The CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy student chapter of the OTC Medicine Safety Operation, through the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), hosted an event with local Boy Scouts to talk about responsible medicine use. They discussed topics such as reading medicine labels, following OTC label directions, proper measurement of medicine, safe storage and disposal, and consulting with parents or guardians before taking medications.

The CU Pharmacy students presented to the Boy Scout Troup, made up of 5th and 6th grade students, along with their parents and caregivers, then had an interactive activity. They did a candy vs. medicine game that demonstrates how similar the two can look and dangers associated with that. They also did a dosing activity to get the participants familiarized with different dosing devices and how to use them.
