PHARMACIST 7 on 7 off Southwestern KS
POSITION SUMMARY: The Pharmacist provides administrative and Pharmaceutical tasks for the Pharmacy Department; supervises the pharmacy technicians in unit; does distribution system for specific hospital units and medication unit inspections; participates in multi-disciplinary patient care plans; assists in the control, ordering and wastage of controlled substances; assists in the day-to-day operations involved with the Med/Select system, maintains an optimal level of pharmaceutical inventory through application of effective purchasing procedures with the appropriate contract vendors; develops and maintains external contacts which include medical service representatives from pharmaceutical companies, medical supply companies, professional peers from other hospitals, local retail outlets, programmers from pharmacy computer support system and state and federal certification inspectors; adheres to department policies and procedures which conform to state, federal and JCAHO regulations; performs specific activities required to properly prepare and distribute medications in a timely manner; reviews and interprets physician orders for completeness and appropriateness with respect to the patient’s needs; accurately prepares injectable drugs for patient administration; assures accurate delivery of needed medications; provides information, education and counseling to patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, ancillary hospital care providers and the community relating to medications and the practice of pharmacy; displays comprehensive knowledge of, and conforms to, hospital policies and procedures as well as state and federal pharmacy regulations; maintains required compliance documentation; is proactively involved in monitoring patient response to therapy for efficacy, adverse effects, and drug interactions; interacts with the physician to develop sound therapeutic regimens; recommends therapy protocols for specific disease entities; promotes positive customer relations and actively contributes to a supportive and cooperative work environment; protects health and safety of staff by proper handling of chemicals and drugs; acts as a resource for the maintenance and upgrade of the pharmacy software system; and performs other related duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY: The Pharmacist is directly accountable to the Director of Pharmacy and ultimately is accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has the responsibility of reporting incidents, patient and/or employee issues, work related accidents, and any other unusual events to the Director or Sr. Leader.
QUALIFICATIONS: BS or PharmD Required Meditech and CPOE Experience Preferred Hospital experience
HOURS: 7on 7off Wed-Wed 7am-7pm plus on call
Call is for emergencies because they have remote order entry and a house supervisor
Work with 2-3 techs.

Staff Pharmacist Openings
TITLE: Pharmacist REPORTS TO: Director of Pharmacy Services LOCATION: Northwest Arizona
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Interprets physician prescriptions and medication orders. Acts as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department personnel. Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the related duties. Supervise, coordinate, and participate in pharmaceutical services related to the preparation and dispensing of drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies. Staff pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel. Responsibilities: •Supervises, coordinates, and participates in the preparation, labeling and dispensing of drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies; ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and narcotics and maintenance of all required records. •Plan and schedule work for the shift group ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties. •Train new personnel •Compile charges for prescriptions filled; maintain accountability and cost records on drugs and pharmaceutical supplies prepared and dispensed. •Maintain interface with medical staff to provide information pertaining to new pharmaceutical supplies, formulary, drug usage and compatibility and new regulations regarding drug controls. •Compound, package and label ointments, solutions and bulk pharmaceutical supplies according to standard formulas; mix prescribed drugs with intravenous solutions as required. •Maintain and support the hospital formulary and inventory, reorder and stock drugs and supplies as required. •Perform other related distributive and clinical duties incidental to the work described herein. EDUCATION/LICENSURE: Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy. B.S. Pharmacy or Pharmacy Doctorate Degree Licensed in the State of Arizona required* EXPERIENCE: Two years hospital pharmacy experience required or completion of a Residency. SCHEDULE: Varied evening/day shifts that start from 6am to 12 midnight; these hours can be scheduled based on staff preference and Department needs, and are predominately 8 hour shifts. In the current practice there is always more than one pharmacist on all shifts except the “midnight shift”. The midnight shifts have staff dedicated to those shifts and if ever covered by other staff, it is their desire to do so. COMPENSATION: Pay is $45 – 65 an hour depending on experience with great benefits and a relocation package. No sign on bonus. Community: Located in northwestern Arizona in the valley between the mountain ranges at an elevation of 3,400 feet. TITLE: Clinical Pharmacist-Night Shift 7 on 7 off LOCATION: Eastern TEXAS
Description Conducts drug utilization review studies. Consults with medical practitioners on prescription orders, patient reactions, and errors. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Needs to have 1-2 years experience. Must be certified in sterile compounding. Knowledge of HMS computer system preferred. 150 bed facility part of a health system. Facility has a 6-bed Level 2 NICU Qualifications BS or Pharm D Required. Hospital experience required. Salary depends on experience.
