Are you looking to get a leg up on your job search? The CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Career Fair and Interview Day are coming up! The Career Fair is set for 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, and the Interview Day is 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.  Both events are in Education 2 South, room 2001. 

The fair offers students the opportunity to meet with professionals from a variety of companies, institutions and pharmacy specialties and allows students the chance to explore career and postgraduate opportunities.

Get in on the interview process

The Interview Day consists of individual interviews and features prospective employers seeking new employees, interns and residents. Sign-ups for interviews have closed; however, you may still ask employers at the fair if they have any time slots still available.

Tips and tricks

To help prepare you for the Career Fair and Interview Day, we’ve compiled a list of tips:

  1. Prepare your resume. Stop by the Writing Center for a quick review or ask a professor if they wouldn’t mind looking yours over.
  2. Prepare a 30-second to one-minute introduction about yourself to share with employers to demonstrate your knowledge of the organization and how your candidacy will benefit them.
  3. Research as much you can about the employer.
  4. Prepare for the interview by anticipating questions that might be asked.
  5. Dress and look professional.
  6. Maintain good eye contact, shake hands firmly and speak clearly and concisely.
  7. Show your interest by asking relevant questions.
  8. Feel free to take notes.
  9. Ask for the employer’s business card and inquire as to how best to follow-up.
  10. Send a thank you note after the Career Fair or interview.
